ACS fully embraces its responsibilities towards the planet and society as an active participant of the UN Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs). It has been a member of the UN Global Compact Group since 2011, and has signed the event industry Net Zero Carbon pledge.

Corporate sustainability starts with a company’s value system and a principles-based approach to doing business. This means ACS operates in ways that, at a minimum, meet fundamental responsibilities in respect to human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.

Reducing our CO2 emissions

We have been working closely with the Climate Neutral Group to identify, measure and ultimately reduce our CO2 emissions. These measurements have been made in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, which is the official standard set by the Paris agreement.

For our analysis we looked at Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. This allowed us to obtain a proper grasp of where the most impact can be made in terms of reductions.

We gained invaluable insights into the biggest sources of organisational emissions, which allowed us to set our NET ZERO ambitions and implement the following policy changes:

• Transitioning our fleet of vehicle fleet to fully electric.
• All personnel travel by train to events less than 600 kms away.
• To reduce transport – we work with local suppliers – where possible.
• We only use LED lighting for our conference events.
• We use re-usable carpet tiles (between 20-50 times) for event flooring.
• To reduce single-use plastic waste – all employees use re-usable ‘Dopper’ drinking bottles.

ACS has always shown total dedication and has supported us to tackle all the challenges that crossed our path.

Making purchasing as ethical as possible

ACS stands for a principled policy. The purchase of products raises ethical questions. ACS has a purchasing manual so that staff can do business as ethically as possible. In addition, we take environmental standards into account in our purchasing and procurement policy.

SSC certified

ACS has been fully VCA certified since 2006. This means we work responsibly in the areas of health, safety and the environment. It gives our clients extra certainty about the quality we offer and the responsible way in which we run our business.

Joint social entrepreneurship

ACS is pleased to help partners and clients who also operate under a social policy. To support this, we are happy to contribute to their social initiatives. For instance, we regularly sponsor clients’ charity events in order to bring attention to good causes.

A transparent policy

In order to set out our core values for our clients and suppliers, ACS has produced a detailed report on Corporate Social Responsibility. This report explains how we incorporate social policy into the company. It also examines how this policy can be continued and improved. In addition, ACS has appointed a working group that takes care of formulating new ambitions with regard to corporate social responsibility.
